Hello, and welcome to my blog! My name is Andrei Maksimov, and I’m a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Architect at Amazon Web Services.

I relocated to the US on April 7, 2018, and currently, I’m based in Maplewood, NJ.

Outside of work, I enjoy building web services automation, blogging, learning affiliate marketing, riding my motorcycle, and traveling to other countries during vacations.

What You Should Know About Me

I’m passionate about technology, wealth, and personal finance management.

My professional background includes experience in cloud technologies (AWS), Python programming, automation, DevOps, and integration.

I was inspired to become an affiliate marketer by the idea of generating passive income and extracting myself from the equation of trading my time for money.

Big thanks to MJ DeMarco and his book “The Millionaire Fastlane: Crack the Code to Wealth and Live Rich for a Lifetime.”

The Full Story About Andrei Maksimov

My journey in personal finance began when I got married and realized the importance of managing my wealth effectively.

In 2018, I started researching and learning about various financial topics, such as budgeting, saving, investing, and retirement planning.

Over time, I discovered tips, tricks, and practices that have worked for me in my personal finance journey within the US.

Starting from day one in the US, I had to get my first credit card, grow my credit score, and support my former wife, whom I married a couple of months before relocation.

That marriage put on my shoulders around $50,000 in debt (primarily belonged to my ex-wife), which I paid off entirely within three years.

At the end of 2022, I launched “HANDS-ON.CLOUD” LLC to power my technical blog that was growing 30% in traffic and revenue.

A few months later, Google updated its new core algorithm, cutting my traffic and revenue by 70%.

I was using a credit line to grow my blog and pay authors who helped me grow it. Loss of website traffic and revenue left me with a new debt of roughly $25,000, and my delayed financial decisions led to my current net worth of -$69,773.67 and credit score of 615 by 06/15/2023.

By following my guidance in this blog, by 09/01/2023, I improved my net worth to -$50,662 by paying off almost $20,000 of debt and improved my credit score to 680.

By the 10/16/2023 (roughly a month afterward), I was able to improve everything even further:

By 12/06/2023, my net worth was -$23,434, and my credit score was 728:

At this moment, I have paid off all my credit cards except my Apple Card, which has an installment payment (I can’t pay it off faster).

Additionally, I dedicated money to pay off my personal loan.

Lastly, I set this money aside and decided which debts to pay off after tax season.

In this blog, I’m covering my rules and exact steps to get rid of this debt as fast as possible. And I will be thrilled if this resource helps others to improve their financial situation, too.
